Today a friend, a former colleague, visited me at school. Prior to the cut backs, she taught at our school. I miss her.
Bethany is in her fourth year of teaching and loves her students. Her smile brightens the room and bring cheer to everyone. I miss her positivity.
We keep in touch. She emails periodically asking for some support in writing. Writer’s Workshop is new in her building, so she stops by to reflect.
We talked about where her kids are currently and wondered where she could go next. I suggested a new line of thinking, teaching, and she agreed. She’s willing to learn and try new ideas. I miss her questions and am thankful for her reflections.
