SOL: Advice from the Coat Room

My room is adjacent to a third grade class in a somewhat open room format. Large storage units separate the class from mine, leaving eighteen inches open from the ceiling. A small coat area connects our two rooms, and my ears hear some the most interesting conversations.

The other day one girl was giving some serious advice to her friend. Her voice was rather frank as she said, “You know, you can pick your friends. You can even pick your nose. But let me tell you – don’t EVER, EVER pick your friend’s nose.”

Silence settled for a split second before laughter giggled out. Facing my computer, I joined in the laughter. Coatroom advice on a Monday morning – what a way to begin the week. 🙂
